See you in another 10

Our 10 year reunion went well. Sorry to those of you who planned to attend the picnic and missed out on the events. This reunion stuff is tricky business sometimes and we had to make a tough call. Regardless, the adult social went well and I believe everyone had a good time. Thanks to all of you who attended, and especially to those who were involved in the planning. It was time consuming but your efforts paid off. Take a break and rest up. We will see you all in another 10 years.

P.S. If you are interested in planning the next reunion, please feel free to leave a comment with your contact email. The 10 year committee is ready to hand over the reins for the next one.

Purchase your tickets

We now have a link on the sidebar to purchase your tickets for the Friday Adult Social and the Saturday Family Picnic. The transaction will go through paypal and is completely secure. The price is a per person fee, so if you are bring a significant other to the adult social, be sure to buy them a ticket as well.

For the Family Picnic, we are having boxed lunches made that include a sandwich, some potato salad, chips, fruit, cookie, and a drink. If you have small children, you might consider splitting the lunch between two as a way to save money. We will not have separate kids sizes. Simply purchase the number of lunch tickets you will be using and then divide the food however you choose.

We need an accurate head count as soon as possible, so when you pay early you save! Be sure and pay today. The deadlines are as follows:

Before July 25th:
Adult Social - $16
Picnic Lunch - $6.50

After July 25th until Aug. 8th:
Adult Social - $21
Picnic Lunch - $11

Aug. 8 - at the door:
Adult Social - $26
Picnic Lunch - $16

Once you have purchased your tickets, please RSVP to this email: vallivue99@yahoo.com
We need to keep an accurate record of who is attending and who has paid so please RSVP and be sure to include which events you have paid for and how many will be attending. We don't want to mess up the totals and forget to count you! :)

As a reminder: the Adult Social will be held at the College of Idaho in the Simplot Dinning Hall. The Family Picnic will be at Lakeview Park in Nampa, off of 16th Ave.

Thanks! We can't wait to see you all soon.

Update!

Due to a high volume of requests, we have made some adjustments to the schedule of the reunion. The changes are as follows:
There will be an Adults Social held on Friday Aug. 14th @ 7:30 pm. This will be a light dinner with finger foods and dessert, an open bar, and music. This location is still being secured so check back for more information to follow.

There will also be a family event on Sat. Aug. 15th from 11:00 am-2:00 pm held at the Lakeview Park in Nampa. This is an all inclusive portion, so plan to bring the kiddos. There will be a catered lunch of sandwiches, chips, and drinks available.

Please pass the word along to anyone and everyone you know as this is our main means of communication. In order to keep costs down, we are utilizing as much of the free options as possible and the internet is a priority.
Also, please participate in the surveys to the right if you have not done so. It is very important for us to get a head count for planning the event. There will be others posted as well so keep an eye out for those.

Keep checking back to learn more and stay on top of the latest updates about the reunion. We look forward to making this happen.

Here's the Date!

We finally have a date and are happy to report that the Class reunion will be held on Sat. Aug. 15th, 2009!
There will be a family event held that afternoon from 11 am - 2 pm and then an Adults only dinner that evening at 7:00 pm. The locations are still being secured and once all the arrangements are made we will release that information.

Be watching the blog for a post about costs. We would like to figure the cost per person to attend and then provide you with an option to pre-pay using paypal. This will help us to cover the costs as they are incurred as well as get an accurate head count.

We will also be posting some surveys/polls as a way to get an idea of what everyone is interested in and more importantly how many are planning to come. Please participate in these as they are added so that we can get all the plans secured and make it a GREAT event!

Pass the word along and make sure that everyone finds out about the blog. This will be the main source of information and communication regarding the reunion events. If you have questions, leave a comment, but be sure to tell us who you are when you do so.

It might not be a bad idea to leave a comment (option at the end of this post) with your name and email so that we get an idea of who we have contacted and how well the word is moving along.

Thanks. We can't wait to see you all!

Hello Fellow Classmates...

Our reunion is just around the corner, in fact, less than a year to get it all together. I have not heard anything regarding plans for the big event and so, in an effort to be "helpful" I have decided to create a meeting ground. I plan to update this blog with information (as it becomes available) regarding our reunion. You can post comments to this blog, or you may send information or suggestions to this email: vallivue99@yahoo.com
Anything you would like posted to the blog directly for everyone to see should be sent to the email address and I can update the blog with the information.

As you submit information or ideas, please be sure to include your full name (your maiden name if you are married, along with your "new" name) just to be sure we all know who is who and keep track of each other correctly.

It would be helpful if everyone could pass along the information to those they keep in contact with from our graduating class. Let them know about the blog.

In order to get updated contact information for everyone, I am attempting to send out an email (hoping it will spread to the desired contacts) and have you return your information to me for the purpose of keeping you updated, informed, and most importantly, knowing where to send the official invitation. If you haven't gotten an email please send the information to the previously mentioned email address. Include your full name (along with maiden name if applicable), the best email address to contact you though, your mailing address, and phone number. It might be helpful to include a photo of yourself for reference an identification purposes, but that is optional.

At a future point I would like to gather information about everyone - what have you been doing for the last 10 years? You'll want to tell us about your life, family, job, whatever you think is new and exciting. Also, I would like to gather some photos from high school days as well as current stuff, so keep all that in mind. I will make this big info request later.

I hope there are ideas out there and people who are willing to help make this successful and enjoyable for us all. I have heard of some poor planning and not very well thought out events. Since we only get to see each other once in, oh, TEN years, how about we make this one GREAT!

I am excited to see it all come together. I look forward to meeting up in a year.

Angie (Hamann) Tuft
